TSS software products are fully integrated Windows applications with a proven track record for outstanding performance and reliability. The purpose of the following information is to assure optimal, trouble-free program operation and to minimize the user's technical support needs. A stable environment is essential for all systems. If your system does not meet these requirements, TSS software may not operate correctly.

AbstractExpress

Single-User Installation

In a single-user system, AbstractExpress is installed and used on one workstation. Following are the requirements for that workstation:

• Microsoft Windows Vista Business, Vista Enterprise, Vista Ultimate, or XP Professional operating systems with the latest service packs installed
  NOTE: At this time, AbstractExpress only supports the 32-bit versions of these operating systems. Home or Media versions of the operating systems mentioned above are not supported.
  
• At least 512MB of RAM (1GB or higher is strongly recommended)
  NOTE: Vista users must consult Microsoft or your computer vendor for Vista specific hardware requirements.
  
• At least 800MHz Pentium-class processor
  
• At least 1GB free hard-disk space
  
• Any version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with the latest service packs
  
• CD-ROM drive
  
• Reliable backup software
  
• Reliable virus protection software
  
• Microsoft Word 2007, Word 2003, or Word XP (2002), with the latest service packs installed
  
  
  Following are recommended, but not required:
  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
  • High-speed Internet connection
  • Internet e-mail

Multi-user Installation

A multi-user installation is required for an installation with more than one user. It contains either a server computer and client workstations or a workgroup host and workgroup workstations. The AbstractExpress database is installed on the server computer or workgroup host.
Workgroup host, workgroup workstations, and client workstations must meet the system requirements for a single-user installation.

The server computer must meet the following requirements:

• Microsoft Windows 2008 or 2003 Server with the latest service packs installed
  
  NOTE: At this time, AbstractExpress only supports the 32-bit versions of those operating systems.
• Sufficient processors and RAM for the network operating system
  
• At least 1GB free hard-disk space
  
• CD-ROM drive
  
• Reliable backup software
  
• Any version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with the latest service packs
  

Import/Export System

An Import/Export system is used to work on orders away from the office. Orders are transferred between the main AbstractExpress system and the Import/Export system.

The Import/Export system must meet the system requirements for a single-user installation.

Printers and Scanners

Following are requirements:

• Any Windows-compatible laser or inkjet printer.
• Scanning devices must have a TWAIN compliant driver and scanning interface.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005

The purchase of AbstractExpress includes the free version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express. This is a fully functioning product; however it has a 4GB size limit per database and can only be installed on computers with a single processor. When you reach this limit or if you have multiple processors, you must purchase Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard or Enterprise Edition.

Microsoft Components

The Microsoft .NET Framework and MDAC components required by TitleExpress are available for free from Microsoft. They can be downloaded from the Microsoft website.
